Mango (Aam), the king of the fruits, is considered a national fruit of Pakistan. Having numerous species and yet no one may count its complete species in the whole world. Mango produced in the Pakistani environment isn’t found anywhere in the world. “East or West Pakistani Mangos are the Best.”Mango is used for eating shakes and juices.

Origin of Mango

Mango is the world’s great esteemed fruit. It is known as a native fruit of the Subcontinent and Asia. Mangoes can be found in almost all regions across the world. That’s why the fruit is considered as “The King” of all fruits. The fruit is cultivated in February/March, Before the summer season. We receive this fruit in markets from May till September.

 Mango Producing Regions

Almost 1300 types of mangoes are observed in the Subcontinent. Nearly 125 varieties of Mango are cultivated in Sindh. Pakistan produces mangoes in nearly all of the country’s provinces, but most of the quantity we get from Punjab and Sindh.

 Pakistan produces almost ten lacs tons of fruit; Sindh makes 50 percent, nearly five lacs tons. In Punjab province, Multan and Mirpurkhas are the main cities that produce many mangoes. Rahim Yar Khan is another city with many mangoes; mangoes are cultivated on almost 26,000 acres.

Varieties of Mangoes

Mangoes have diversification in their types. Some of them are very famous among the people of Pakistan, Like Sindhri, Langra, Chaunsa, Fajri, Anwar Ratole, Dasehri, Saroli, Tuta Pari, etc.

Sindhri

As Mango is famous as a “King of the Fruits” the Sindhri variety is renowned for “The King of Mango, It is known as the topmost variety of Pakistan.

 Its color is yellow, and it’s delicious. The Father of  Muhammad Khan Junejo brought this variety from Bombay, the Prime minister of Pakistan. He cultivated this variety in the region of Sindhi which is why its name is known as Sindhi.

Anwar Raton

This variety also has a yellow color and is small in size. This variety of Mango is famous for its flavourful taste. ‘mini powerhouse ‘is another name of this variety. It is produced in the regions of Punjab and Sindh. It was cultivated in the village of Ratul in Uttar Pradesh, India. That’s why it is known as Anwar Raton.

Chaunsa

Chaunsa was cultivated in South Asia. This is an export-quality product cultivated in Pakistan. 

Dussehra

Dussehra’s name is derived from a village called Amman Dussehra. This variety is so tasty and greenish-yellow in color. 

Cons of Mango

1. Diarrhea

Excessive intake of this fruit causes diarrhea: Mango is rich in fiber; when it is eaten more than required, it will cause diarrhea. 

2. Sugar levels

 Mangoes are high in sugar, and eating plenty of them can cause weight gain and can even affect diabetic patients who have higher sugar levels.

3. Sour throat

When national-fruit-of-pakistanwe consume an excess of Mango, it gets worn out in the throat; it happens when the head of the Mango is not cleaned correctly, or its light is not removed from the fluid.

4. Cons of Raw Mango

 Consuming raw Mango can cause diseases such as eye disease, nausea, and dream defects. In addition, drinking milk after finishing raw Mango can cause health issues..

5. Allergies and arthritis

 People get allergies by eating mango food, their eyes get water, the nose starts flowing, and respiratory problems may also increase. Arthritis should reduce the intake of mangoes. However, if anyone is consuming it, the disease may increase.
